Anyways, I believe that Apple is capitalising on people and if Sony or Dell wanted to produce a notebook like the Air, they could've done it long time ago! Seriously, Air is just a Sony Vaio but with no optical drive, only 3 usable slots instead of 8, fixed flat battery instead of a changeable one, curved edges to fool the eyes of it's thinness with a bigger footprint (Width and Depth), mono speaker instead of 2 stereos, an integrated graphic card instead of a proper card, no fingerprint security and a small capacity hard disk instead of a 160 GB option.
I can already imagine the thinest notebook in the world after a month if Sony drops all the things Apple has dropped, but I hope not, because all types of people need these dropped things, either one or the other.
The Macbook air is great. I recently trashed my Dell and purchased one. The notebook is one of the lightest I have ever owned. I guess thats why they call it the "Air".
I always wanted a Macbook Air, but it just so expensive. Perhaps one of these days the price will drop so little me can afford one Until then I be stock with my Dell. I guess it could have been worse.
To comment on the last two comments left. The Macbook Air is definitely costly for the hardware you're getting. But man oh man that thing is slick! You will look sexier with one, guaranteed!
I am planning to buy new laptop, and I am thinking about Macbook. It is best for daily use. Apart from that, Macbooks are virtually virus free, this is the reason why I am going with apple.
I think the mac book pro is the way forward.
The Macbookpro is the workhorse of the creative industry. I have used each iteration of Powerbook and Macbookpro for the last 7 years (I think that is how long they have been around) and love it.

I use Mac in my office and it really fantastic to use. I am planning to buy a lap top for my personal use.
I would love a MacBook Air but the new standard MacBook would be good enough for me – the aluminium construction is so much better than the previous plastic edition.

I have been wanting to make the move from a PC laptop to a Macbook for years. The problem is that they are so darn expensive and PC laptops are so cheap right now!!!
Hopefully in the next couple of years, I'll finally be able to pick one up.

I have a macbook pro and I don't see how anyone can continue using a pc. I'm in love with my mac and pretty much take it with me everywhere. I'm actually going to buy a mac desktop as well. Apple products are just phenomenal.
If I were to choose a desktop Apple or Laptop then I will certainly choose Macbook Air. Simply because of it's beauty and functionality. It's Apple what more could you possibly want?
