I've spent 8 years in the military and the worst part of some of the training facilities is phone services. They like to take our cell phones away for some reason. So I'll be in training for a month with no cell phone, then they let us use the stupid pay phones. So I have to buy calling cards. Of course the ones on post are supper expensive and the pay phones charge like 10 unites just to make the call and then you burn through it supper fast. It will be nice when the military transfers to VOIP for personal calls for those in training. Cheaper for all and its the way of the future.
Lots of my friends who are away from thier family use skype to call their family members. It is far more cheaper than normal ISD cards, and voice clearity is superb. And, now a days, some companies came up with Wimax phones, in which we can install skype and call directly from our cell.
Yes, I am waiting for VOIP service, it will change the world nice technologies, skype is great but it is lil bit costly now. when some other voip service provider involved in it. I am sure it will be very cheap.

i think so Skype is the way of future if u have internet and other wise u have no skype i think so u miss something of the internet facility…………
